The company Ortolan of Montebello Vicentino (Vi) Italy has began building agricultural machinery in 1972. Son of a farmer, Giuseppe Ortolan created the company together with his brother in 1975. Ortolan S.n.c builds machines for the working soil and is able to offer a range of 32 models for the different kinds of cultivation and ground: tillers, power harrows, stone-buriers and flail mowers. The machines are designed for easy use, the whole power of the tractor is used for working the ground and not to draw the machine. A constant attention to the quality and innovation of its own products and a continuous analysis of the necessities and applications of farmers contributes to the success of these machines to be able to guarantee the best performances and a good relationship price-quality. The company is situated in the east north of Italy, it has 18 employees and it is composed of two establishments. One includes the assemblage and the painting and the other one used for the working and cutting of laser and welding.The most recent building, where the offices are, is of 1998; in this same period a new chain of painting has been created. The strategies of production consist of producing in base on the demand with a delivery generally effected 3 weeks from the date of the order. All the products Ortolan are designed inside the company with a program of design (Autodesk) that allows to have the drawings in three dimensions and to codify the pieces. The biggest market of the firm is constituted by small and middle machineries, sells particularly well tillers, stone-buriers and power harrows. On the market of tillers the the working width goes from 90 cms to 2,50 mt., on the market of the power harrows, Ortolan begins with 1,10 mt. but the greatest harrow reaches 6 mt. The stone-burier starts from 90 cms up to the 4 mt of working width and the same for the flail mowers go from 1 meter up to the 3 meters. The overseas trade represents around 60% of the volume of business exporting in France, Germany, England,Spain, Greece, Denmark, Switzerland and also in the United States, in Japan, Australia, Arabic Emirates and Egypt.
