Agriculturally diversified with livestock, horticulture, grains and oilseed - particularly corn, soybeans and soft white winter wheat.

88% of Canada's soybean production is in Ontario.

Corn yields for southwestern Ontario farmers is now comparable with those in U.S. Corn Belt.

Livestock including cattle, pigs, sheep, bison, venison. 81% of Canada's dairy farms are in Ontario and Quebec.

Southern Ontario has one of Canada's longest fruit growing seasons. Despite a smaller number of fruit growing days (approximately 120 frost-free days), Quebec also has significant fruit production: Cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, black raspberries, saskatoons and the labrusca grape.

Potatoes, sweet corn, green peas and tomatoes account for 80% of total vegetable area in Canada.
